Follow on Google News | ![]() Attendees Gain Hands-on Experience during NCVH’s Below the Knee Simulation CourseAttendees will receive hands-on training for interventional procedures during the Below the Knee Simulation Training Course. The course will take place on Thursday, June 3 during the New Cardiovascular Horizons conference.
By: South Louisiana Clinical Research Foundation This course has been designed for physicians and medical professionals performing interventional procedures in small arteries in the lower leg. The BTK module offers the opportunity for essential procedural and technical skills training in a learner focused and risk-free environment. The module has five cases with a variety of lesions and treatment challenges. The 3.5 hour course will take place on Thursday, June 3 at the Tulane University Simulation Center. Leaning objectives include: • Introduction to clinical devices used in BTK intervention • Learning the procedural steps for BTK intervention • Selection of appropriate introducers and catheters for support during the procedure • Navigation of wire through the lesion and position to provide stability • Completion of post treatment angiogram to assess outcome The NCVH program focuses on the fight against peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and cutting-edge limb salvage techniques.
