Annual Outdoor Bowls Competition Set To Return To SwanseaEntry forms are out now for the 2010 Swansea Bowls Festival taking place this July
By: Marketing Services Now in its 43rd year the Swansea Bowls Festival is well established and is a popular event on the South Wales bowls scene. Taking place on the bowling greens at Victoria Park over 3 weeks the competition is open to everyone, both professional and amateur bowlers, regardless of playing experience. It is a prime opportunity for dedicated local bowlers to play against top national and international names. Over the last few years such recognised players have included Steve Rees, John Price and Wyn Matthews. Categories include men and women’s Singles and Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Visually Impaired Integrated Pairs, and Junior Singles. Furthermore, to launch the 2010 festival a new one day Two Wood Open Pairs competition will be held on the opening day. Brian Hughes, outdoor leisure manager, said, “The Swansea Bowls Festival always proves to be a popular event and we hope that this year is no exception. Hopefully we will even get the sunny weather we have been promised over the last few years.” Entry forms are available from the Civic Centre, the Guildhall and Swansea Indoor Bowls Centre.
