Dfss’ Mobile Community Service Center Comes To Green Briar Park

The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services Mobile Community Service Center Provides Easier Access to Information and Supportive Services For Chicago’s West Ridge and Lincoln Square Residents

May 20, 2010 - PRLog -- May 20, 2010 - The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS), in partnership with 50th Ward Alderman Bernard Stone and 40th Ward Alderman, Patrick J. O’Connor will present the Mobile Community Service Center program on Wednesday, May 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Green Briar Park, 2650 W. Peterson, Chicago.  The Mobile Community Service Center initiative delivers information and supportive services to residents in need.  

“Especially during these difficult economic times, supportive services are in high demand across the city,” said Mary Ellen Caron, commissioner, Chicago Department of Family and Support Services.  “Through the Mobile Community Service Center program, we are able to ensure that resources, information and services are easily accessible to the people who need them most.”  

Visitors to the Mobile Community Service Center can explore a variety of resources including 2010 Census information, employment resources, housing resources, healthy cooking demonstrations, a mobile food pantry, the mobile immunization caravan, pre-school and childcare services, public benefits assistance, rental assistance, senior services, and youth programs.
