UI Atoms 2010 control suite for WPF/Silverlight released..

May 19, 2010 - PRLog -- NeuroSpeech research and development team has finally perfected suite of controls for both WPF & Silverlight. The aim was to write and develop unified way of writing line of business applications. As atoms are basic building blocks of the variety of matter that we see and interact everyday, we chosen name of the product to be UI Atoms which will serve as basic building blocks to write enterprise class User Interface frontends very easily and quickly.

Unified Coding Approach:

Both Silverlight and WPF currently have lot of differences in terms of syntax, availability of base class library and toolkits. Seems like WPF is rich in features but lags in terms of built in functional controls where else silverlight is rich in controls but lacks rich features of extending and writing enterprise level applications. UI Atoms were written with aim of sharing entire business logic source code in both WPF as well as Silverlight using C# directives. And every property and functionality is made available to WPF & Silverlight very evenly, so that the developers can write the source code independent of underlying technology and they can easily copy and paste code from both technologies.

Key Controls:

AtomForm is a real powerful alternative of inbuilt Data Form provided in Silverlight. Not only it provides rich layout of writing quick form applications very easily but it also gives ability to write “Model Independent Validation” (for example, Agree Terms & Conditions, Password Matching), although these examples are very small, they demonstrate ability of AtomForm to be flexible and versatile (AtomForm is also available in WPF).

AtomFlexibleGrid is smart grid, which offers variable columns and automatic layout independent of child attributes.

AtomToggleButtonBar is a real cool toggle button which can serve good alternative of radio buttons.

AtomCalculator is powerful decimal calculator for accounts with “"%” bug resolved.

AtomFilterTextBox is powerful filter box to filter any ItemsControl based controls.

AtomCurrencyTextBox is a powerful accounts decimal value editor with built in calculator.

AtomListBox, AtomComboBox  are powerful list controls with ability to filter as well as validate the selection.

Measurement Unit Conversion Controls:

Scientific measurements are complex and wide range of units are used everywhere, though conversions are not difficult but it is not possible to carry and remember all conversions and correct formulae.

UI Atoms 2010 v1.1 brings power of SI units conversion in set of following Measurement Unit Controls. The measurement units offered currently are, Length, Weight, Speed, Temperature, Volume and Time.

Current version of UI Atoms 2010 works with Silverlight 4.0 and WPF 3.5 SP1.
