PRLog -- HTC which has used Android OS in most of its mobile phones like, HTC desire understand the importance of Microsoft so well that it doesn't even want to argue the matter in the court. So, it has been decided to quietly arrange a behind the bike shed deal with Microsoft to pay royalties. The word is that, like some East End debt collector, Microsoft is preparing to hunch up its shoulders, sport a Bogart like grimace and knock on a few more doors.
Once completed, Microsoft may also knock Google's door. So, what will Microsoft get, when it has discussed with everyone? Possibly it will be somewhat similar to Windows Phone 7. So, mobile phone manufacturers are left with two options, either to dump Android or go for Windows Phone 7 instead. According to latest information obtained, HTC has agreed to a patent deal with Microsoft for all HTC mobile phones running the Android mobile platform. According to the deal, HTC will pay undisclosed royalties due to certain elements of HTC’s mobile phones running the Android OS infringing Microsoft-owned patents. Specific data regarding the level of royalties being paid are not available at the moment. What we do understand is that all HTC Android smartphones are covered by the agreement including the Nexus One. That means each time Google sells a Nexus One Microsoft gets a royalty payment from HTC, not Google directly.
