May 3, 2010 - PRLog -- On Tuesday, May 11, 2010, during the regularly scheduled Florida Cabinet Meeting at the Capital, Florida Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) will be presented with a resolution in recognition of exceptional volunteer service to the men and women of the National Guard and reserve forces in the State of Florida and the businesses that support their service to the nation.

The Florida Legislature, through a proclamation introduced by Rep. Ron Reagan of District 67, has set aside Thursday, May 13, 2010 as Florida Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (FL ESGR) Day across the state.  The support of agencies statewide to support this important endeavor is growing so quickly that some of the Statement of Support (SOS) signing locations had to be changed to facilitate expected overflow crowds on the day of the event.

A large turnout is anticipated across the state in a variety of designated “super sites” and to accommodate the overwhelming support of the ESGR SOS signing, the facilities in Orlando and Pensacola have been changed to:

                 - Tallahassee – Cabinet Meeting Room – Lower Level
                 - Orlando – Troop D -133 South Semoran Blvd, Ste A, Orlando
                 - Pensacola – National Guard Readiness Center - 8790 Grow Drive, Pensacola
                 - Tampa – Troop C – 11305 N McKinley Drive, Tampa
                 - Miami – Troop E – Snapper Creek Service Plaza, Fla Turnpike (mile mk19)
                 - Jacksonville – Troop G – 7322 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville

A “super site” location in West Palm Beach will be added in the coming days.

State law enforcement officials and members of the Florida State Law Enforcement Chief’s Association (SLECA) will sign a Statement of Support (SOS) at 1 pm on May 13, 2010 to demonstrate their support of these vital military components in the state of Florida. Florida state organizations that have committed to showing their support include the Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Law Enforcement, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Department of Corrections, Florida Highway Patrol, the State Law Enforcement Chiefs Association, Department of Environmental Protection Law Enforcement, the Florida Department of Transportation Law Enforcement, as well as the campus police from Florida A&M University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, University of North Florida, University of South Florida and the University of West Florida.
Other agencies joining in support of Florida ESGR are the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs.

State and local government officials, civic, business, and military leaders will also be in attendance.

ESGR is a Department of Defense organization and its committee members volunteer their time in support of the men and women of the Guard and Reserve, their families and employers.  As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions within America’s borders as well as on the most dangerous battlefields around the world, ESGR will continue to be the resource for the employers of our citizen warriors.  More information about ESGR Employer Outreach and volunteer programs is available at www.ESGR.mil or by calling 1-800-336-4590.
