| New File-For-You Claim Service Conquers Paperwork For Long-Term-Care InsuranceNew File-For-You claim service, from Liberty In Home Care, conquers paperwork for long-term-care insurance and reduces stress for family caregivers
By: Carolyn Frith Stress is ever present among family caregivers, those who provide unpaid care for physically or mentally-impaired loved ones. This is because they tend to be either a member of the “sandwich generation”, juggling the responsibilities of jobs, children, household, and caring for a parent, or to be an elderly spouse who might have their own health issues. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Policy (AHRP), the most likely person to be caring for an older person is an adult child. And the National Alliance for Caregiving reports that most adult family caregivers are employed and have an average age of 47; an age where many may still have children at home. The AHRP also reports that approximately one quarter of caregivers are ages 65+. One third of these caregivers are in fair to poor health themselves. So, the emotional and physical demands of long-term care giving can result in high levels of anxiety. “We are in close contact with our clients every day and we recognize the toll that it takes on them to provide care for a family member or friend in declining health,” says Steve Rakoczy, Chief Operating Officer, Liberty In Home Care. “Family caregivers are likely to become emotionally stressed and physically exhausted. Insurance paperwork is just one more burden on top of the demands such as shuttling children back and forth, deadlines at work, home upkeep, taking care of their own health and their caregiving role. We just introduced the File-For-You service, and our clients are so relieved when we tell them we can take care of filing their claims.” Liberty In Home Care also lightens the load for family caregivers by providing care for individuals for from a few hours a day to around-the-clock service, depending on needs. They help with anything from activities of daily living, such as eating, mobility and bathing, to medication, monitoring, errands and transportation.
