While at Cake Alchemy, where she served as Exec Cake Decorator and Pastry Chef, she was featured in several episodes of “Amazing Wedding Cakes,” which explored the finer art of designing high-end cakes for special occasions. Prior to that she worked for Publisher John Wiley and Sons, where she served as Assistant to the VP of Global Rights, helping to coordinate the rights for various cookbooks. She also worked as a production apprentice at CocaVino in Brooklyn, NY, where she produced artisanal chocolates and confections. “I am really pleased to be joining Tarrytown House Estate,’’ said Chef Doerner. “It’s a prestigious property where I can create the type of showpiece work that I am accustomed to, but I am also excited about preparing specialty desserts for the hotel guests.’’ Chef Doerner created a runway showpiece for the 11th annual NY Chocolate Fashion Show and assisted at Food Network’s Extreme Wedding Cake Competition. Her body of work includes rolled fondant wedding cakes, specialty cakes, chocolate sculptures, blown sugar work, piping, sugar paste flowers and more. She is also skilled in creating dough, baking quick breads, cookies, brownies and other desserts. She graduated from The French Culinary Institute where she earned a Grande Diplome in Classic Pastry Arts. She also attended Elon University where she earned a degree from Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.
