| IJIS Institute Partners with National Fusion Center AssociationThe IJIS Institute welcomes the National Fusion Center Association (NFCA) as its newest Alliance Partner.
By: IJIS Institute The National Fusion Center Association, formed in 2009, represents the interests of fusion centers in states, tribal nations, and units of local government in order encourage effective, efficient, ethical, lawful, and professional intelligence and information sharing and prevent and reduce the harmful effects of crime and terrorism on victims, individuals, and communities. The IJIS Institute relies heavily on partnerships with key practitioner organizations, national associations, other nonprofit organizations, and universities in its effort to harness the expertise of industry in working toward improved information sharing between organizations involved in justice, public safety, and homeland security. The members of the Institute’s Alliance Partner program are organizations that share the belief that information sharing is a national priority and the conviction to work together in partnerships to address this national need. Paul Wormeli, executive director of the IJIS Institute, noted, “This partnership will lead us to the next step in advancing information sharing in this country through fusion centers and suspicious activity reporting initiatives, two subjects with which our organization has been intimately involved with for many years.” W. Ross Ashley, III, the executive director of the NFCA, said, “The National Fusion Center Association is pleased to join with the IJIS Institute as an Alliance Partner. The Institute is a long-time advocate of information sharing and a logical partner for the NFCA. The NFCA recognizes that industry plays a key role in securing the homeland and looks forward to collaborative efforts to ensure that state and major urban area fusion centers have the resources they need to succeed.” # # # The IJIS Institute is a nonprofit organization that serves as the voice of industry, uniting the private and public sectors to improve mission-critical information sharing for those who protect and serve our communities.
