Help is on the way for homeless veterans in Birmingham, AL

March 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Once completed the house will serve as a veteran’s transitional housing and service center.  JD Simpson – Executive Director of Three Hots and A Cot – reports that the house is in need of electrical and plumbing repairs.  Once these are completed Three Hots and A Cot will paint and furnish the seven bedroom house in preparation of opening to support the homeless veterans in the Birmingham area.
Three Hots and A Cot is actively seeking personal and corporate donations to complete the renovations to the house.  Anyone interested can visit their web site at www.cotsforvets.org for more details on the efforts of this nonprofit organization.  Donations can be mailed to Three Hots and A Cot, 1516 Chattanooga St. Leeds, AL.  All gifts are tax deductible.  
Three Hots and A Cot is working in cooperation with US Department of Veterans Administration and other local service providers.  The goal is to provide the services and housing homeless veterans need to transition to an independent lifestyle.  JD Simpson says there are two words that should never be in the same sentence – “homeless” and “veteran”.  We as a nation need to do all we can to end this national embarrassment.  Three Hots and A Cot will do their part – one person at a time – with one dollar at a time.
