Antellus To Participate In "Read An Ebook Week"

The independent publisher is offering discounts of 25% off on all its ebooks sold through Smashwords in a variety of formats March 7-13.

Antellus, a publisher and seller of science fantasy adventure and nonfiction books and ebooks, is selling its catalog of open source ebooks at a discount in order to participate in the annual Read An Ebook Week March 7-13.

"We are doing this to make our ebooks available to readers from Canada and other countries," owner, author and CEO Theresa M. Moore said. "We had tried other platforms before with poor results, but so far only Smashwords has proved to be the right ebook distributor for us."

Smashwords, owned and operated by Mark Coker, is a growing concern which publishes ebooks in a variety of formats including epub, palm, rtf and pdf, and distributes to Sony, Kobo, Palm, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other major ebook sellers.

Beside offering POD print books at prices below list, Antellus publishes in the open formats with Smashwords, while offering DRM-free PDFs only through its own site, and Kindle ebooks through Amazon. The average price of an ebook from Antellus is $5.99. The publisher has recently added a mail order form to its site to enable those who are shy of shopping carts to order by mail or email.
