Speech Remedy’s Speech Therapy Product “SR-Cognition” Selected by Genesis Rehab Services
Leading Rehab Provider to Offer Industry’s Most Up-to-Date Tool Available to its Extensive Network of Therapists
By: Speech Remedy
Speech Remedy is a leading provider of speech therapy rehabilitation materials, focused on the adult population (16 years of age and older). GRS will be using Speech Remedy’s “SR-Cognition”
“We reviewed and selected Speech Remedy’s “SR-Cognition”
“We are committed to clinical excellence and staff development and one of our challenges has been to find relevant, age appropriate, easy-to-use materials to meet the needs of our diverse population. Speech Remedy’s up-to-date, realistic, professionally tested and designed products will be an effective remedial tool for our therapists to use with their clients and are a welcome addition to our innovative continuing education offerings for our staff,” Pezzano asserted.
Speech Remedy was founded in 2006 by Joanna Boyer and Terri Tarnoff Snyder, both licensed, practicing speech-language pathologists, to address the need for current, multicultural, functional, “real life” applicable rehabilitation materials for ages 16 and older.
With an aging baby boomer population and 1 in 6 Americans with a speech, language or hearing disorder, the demand for speech language professionals with effective materials is at an all-time high.
Speech Remedy products can help rehabilitate individuals who have sustained a stroke, traumatic brain injury, cranial resection, tumor, or are suffering from degenerative conditions such as dementia, ALS, or multiple sclerosis and may also aid high school aged individuals with developmental challenges by providing functional and independent life skills training.
Since the release of SR-Cognition, Speech Remedy has launched eight Photo Card Decks, addressing: Confrontational Naming, Problem Solving, Safety & Awareness, Categorization & Scanning and Sequencing. The photo card decks promote: sustained attention, visual scanning, word retrieval, vocabulary and word relationships, articulation, sequential thought, topic maintenance, problem identification, critical thinking and safety awareness. Each card deck features 25 color, up-to-date images with real-life situations and objects. Suggested questions and answers for discussions of these images are provided on the back of each card.
The SR-Cognition kit and supplementary photo card decks are currently being used by hundreds of speech-language pathologists and family members across the U.S., Canada and overseas.
