March 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Oakton, VA – Mosaic Harmony, an interfaith, multicultural community choir based in Northern Virginia, proudly presented David K. North and the House of Jam band in a concert to benefit Mosaic Harmony.  The concert, originally scheduled as a pre-Valentine's Day event on Saturday, February 6 was rescheduled for Sunday, February 21 at 7:00pm and was held at UUCF, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA.   The theme was "The Many Moods of Love" and gave concert attendees an opportunity to extend their Valentine celebration a little longer as well as giving the choir a fundraiser with the emphasis on fun.  The room decorated with centerpieces in Valentine hearts in glitter and designs in white, pink and purple, candlelight and soft overhead lighting to enhance the romance in the air.  Black Bag Productions donated the custom raffle basket, table and room décor as well as event services for the concert.

The 12 sweetheart tables featured amenities that included a bottle of sparkling cider, keepsake champagne flutes, homemade chocolates and fruit and cheese tray.  All concert attendees received a favor of two heart sugar cookies and enjoyed dancing, laughter, excellent musicianship and all around fun was how the concert was described long after it ended.  Although the proceeds from the concert fell slightly short of budgeted expectations, Mosaic Harmony Board President Kala Payne noted that what was raised was clearly due to the talent of North and the band.. The concert marked the third time the band performed to benefit the choir and its operations.  North, who also serves as director of Mosaic Harmony, says, “It was fantastic to be able to perform in Northern Virginia since we are primarily based in Maryland.”  The band consists of David Ylvisaker-keyboards, vocals; Dave Hanbury-lead and acoustic guitar, vocals; Steve Sachse- bass guitar; Andy Hamburger-percussion and David K. North-lead vocals.

The band whose repertoire includes Pop, Top 40, R&B, jazz and rock and roll, is comprised of a group of friends with well over 75 years of expertise in the professional music business.  That expertise has served them well as it includes studio and location recording, recording mixing and mastering, performance and group management.  Deciding to become a band in the fall of 2008 and naming the group after Hanbury’s Beltsville MD based recording studio, the band has performed at several venues since their November 2008 concert.  North noted that even though the snow cancellation presented some scheduling challenges for the band, they were all committed to making sure they were able to perform to benefit the choir this season and were thrilled when the date of February 21 worked for everyone.
