International Video and SkypeSkype and other video conferencing solutions make person-to-person contacts available all around the world.
By: Jim Hilgendorf The Tribute Series, a producer of travel films, social documentaries, and corporate promotional films, has begun utilizing Skype to conduct interviews internationally. One of the latest projects of the Tribute Series involves interviewing students from around the world, using Skype video. The first stage of this project involves students from Kazakhstan, who are currently living in Kazakhstan, or who are attending universities in other countries. All that is needed on both ends of the interview are Skype, a computer, high-speed internet access, and a good webcam. Quality is good, both for video and audio. And with the addition of a little software, the interviews can be recorded right on your computer and then edited. The Tribute Series is putting together these interviews to give viewers in the United States and other countries a view of Kazakhstan, as seen through the eyes of the youth of that country. The interviews will be up soon, on the site of America's Dialogue at: http://www.americasdialogue.org Other web conferencing companies are springing up, offering services similar to that of Skype, but with more sophisticated options. The beauty of Skype, of course, is that is free.
