Jan. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Santa Barbara, CA., January 12, 2010  -- Each year the luxury charter yacht Caledonia forges a path through the inside passage of Alaska past glaciers, bears and mega-cruise ships packed with tourists. Although the extraordinary sights are plentiful and not over-looked; this is a trip with fishing in mind.

Caledonia is a 95 foot luxury yacht, the fishing is done from a 28 foot vessel professional equipped and captained for the Alaskan waters because this is no ordinary fishing trip. Single king salmon weighing between 25 and 75 pounds offer the largest, freshest catch to anglers of all expertise levels. Rockfish, halibut and shrimp are also abundant.

In addition to fishing, the boat carries crab pots which, at one month prior to when the commercial fishing outfits arrive – are always a new adventure for even the most seasoned of angler. There is nothing like the thrill of dropping the pots into the frigid waters, returning to them before dinner and pulling up 40 fresh king crab to accompany the catch from earlier in the day.

"It is a real treat to come back to Caledonia and have our 5 star chef prepare freshly caught salmon for dinner " said Bob Stephens, Captain and Co-owner of the Caledonia. "And having a plate of the freshest crab upon the dinner table with your closest friends and family is truly a once in a lifetime experience."

The booking season is currently open and tours begin May 15th. The typical tour lasts 6 nights and 7 days.
