Five Free Films For One Small Donation

Jan. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Independent filmmaker, Angelo Bell has chosen to open the coffers of his film vault in order to make his new film, "Resurrection of Serious Rogers." With everything on the line, Angelo is offering free digital downloads of three films to everyone who donates at least ten dollars to the fund the micro-budget film. Set to begin shooting in just five days, Angelo is counting on the philanthropy of independent film enthusiasts and aficionados to make his project a success.

"This is something that every indie film lover will love," says Angelo. "If you aren't a film lover I'm sure you know someone who is and getting five films is no small deal." Angelo has followed an aggressive filmmaking schedule, writing, directing and or producing thirteen films in the past ten years.  Among other generous perks for donations, Angelo is making five of his best films available to everyone who donates.  

He calls it "appreciation," but it is a shrewd business practice to offer a gift that is five times the value of the donation. In a nutshel, to make his film, Resurrection of Serious Rogers, Angelo is offering everyone who goes to http://www.indiegogo.com/woman-on-fire/ to donate $10 or more an Associate Sponsor film credit, a free digital download of five short films (Valerie & Sid, Broken Hearts Club, The First Time, Love is for Democrats & Renounced), an invite to the films wrap party, an autographed production photo and advanced screening of all episodes, and a digital copy of the film when it is complete. Essentially, every donation receives a gift of six films.

"The audience is always the main reason for a film's success," said Angelo while checking his fund raising balance on IndieGoGo. "This time, we're just asking the audience to participate a little sooner than usual."  Angelo believes that fans of the action-thriller genre, who are looking to escaped the overwhelming numbers of Internet comedies will appreciate his film. "We've come up with a film project that's smart, thrilling, mysterious, well-told and sexy. What could be better for an action thriller junkie?"

Resurrection of Serious Rogers is told via a fly-on-the-wall perspective as the story of Sarah “Serious” Rogers (played by Cooper Harris) unfolds during an interrogation scene between Trixie (Mercedes Manning) and FBI Agent Martin (Jamie Fishback). As Trixie weaves her tale about a highly skilled assassin who had a meltdown it becomes unclear what parts of the story are fact and which are fiction. As Trixie lures Martin in with her confounding story she begins to suspect that Martin’s intentions aren’t as noble as he claims. So the cat and mouse game continues. As the story continues to unfold we learn about Ms. Rogers — the perfect assassin who suffered heartbreak and shame, turning her into an emotional and unprofessional killing machine. The film has it all, a perverted senator, Victoria Ritchey (Amelia Pawlak), with a fetish for young women. Victoria calls in a contract hit for her nanny after she sexually assaults the young woman. We learn about Serious’ boss, the Mystery Man (Jeff Torres), a puppeteer of men who’s plugged into government and organized crime. And we learn about the rogue, drug-addicted FBI agent, Hooper (Philip Hersh), who’s life and career was ruined by the Mystery Man and now he’s out for biblical justice. Vanity (Nancy Corbo) promises to be a nemesis of epic proportions.

All this for only $10? Angelo thinks it's a win/win situation. If someone wants to go to the movies there's travel time, gas money, ticket prices, refreshments and germy theater seats. Angelo proposes what he considers a more comfortable alternative. "People who donate can watch my films in the comfort of their own homes. They can share the films with friends through email."
