Jan. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- For the past 4 years, On staff child psychologist, Dr. Robyn Silverman has been providing curriculum and other tools for students at Just For Kicks Martial Arts. Her program, Powerful Words Character Development has finally lead to her becoming a national phenomenon.

Recently, Dr. Robyn’s hard work and dedication to education has paid off in a most unlikely way. Within two weeks time she appeared as an expert guest on the ‘Tyra Banks’ program and the Fox News Network’s ‘Fox and Friends, Saturday’. Both are nationally syndicated programs.

She was first approached by the Tyra Banks program which runs on the CW at 4pm EST. Her episode ran on Monday October 5th.

The topic she was invited to comment on was “Fat Haters and the family members and friends who they hurt with their attitudes”.

“I was asked about why some girls lash out in the ugly ways depicted on the show (you won’t believe some of the things said)”, said Dr. Robyn. “It’s hard enough for women to deal with the images they see each day - from what they see in the media to what they “see” reflected in the mirror.”

Dr. Robyn was again completely surprised when two weeks later she picked up her voice messages to find that the Fox News Network had discovered her as a Child Development Expert and wanted her to come straight to New York to appear live on ‘Fox and Friends Saturday’. She was brought on to discuss the topic ‘Should you ever lie to your child’.


Dr. Robyn debated this topic with another expert who’s stance is that parents should never lie to their children. Dr. Robyn’s stance is a little different. “It’s a good idea to keep in mind the developmental age of our children and tell them what they can process and understand without scaring them unnecessarily.” Said Silverman.”


The producers for both shows discovered Dr. Robyn, independently of each other, after finding her blog, her articles and her many videos online. Not only did they request her to be a guest expert on this episode, they also indicated they would like her to be a recurring guest.

Since October Dr. Robyn has gone on to be a regular expert on the Tyra Show.
