Follow on Google News | MCBs turn the iPhone into an interactive story playerKirstin Hofkens today announced their new line of iPhone applications. Mobile Children’s Books, or MCBs, are fully illustrated and recorded children’s storybooks for the Apple iPhone or the iPod Touch.
By: Kirstin Hofkens The MCB library features modern reproductions of quality picture books, classic fairy tales and original stories beautifully narrated and written in English, German and Russian. Beginning of January 2010, seven stories will be released simultaneously in the Apple App Store including "The wolf and the seven little goats" and "The princess and the pea". Prices range from 0.99 to 3.99 USD per MCB. “The new iPhone technology has allowed us to produce compelling MCB Mobile Children's Books that can be personalized and accessed any place and any time. Our goal is to enlighten, entertain and encourage a love for books in your children through this new medium,” explains Kirstin Hofkens, President and co-creator of Mobile Children’s Books. “We built a solid foundation that opens the door to broad acceptance of narrated and illustrated children's books for mobile devices and hope to soon build partnerships with publishing companies around the world.” The brainchild of husband and wife team, Kirstin and Roeland Hofkens, Mobile Children’s Book was first born out of a personal need. As frequent travelers and parents of a growing little girl, Kirstin and Roeland wanted to encourage their daughter’s fascination with storybooks but faced a challenge when it came to packing all the heavy books. Kirstin searched the internet for books she could download onto her computer, but found only limited resources. Because of their background in technology and their experience in creating the BabyPhone Deluxe (insert link), the Hofkens were able to create these new iPhone apps that met their own high standards for their daughter. The original audio recordings of all MCB Mobile Children's Books are available as free MP3 downloads on the website. # # # Kirstin Hofkens - Mobile Applications was founded in August 2009 in Stuttgart, Germany.
