Nov. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Jackbone Dixie is getting involved in their community, and encouraging  others to do the same. According to NISMART, an estimated 1,682,900 youth had a runaway/ thrown away episode. Of these youth, 37 percent were missing from their caretakers and 21 percent were reported to authorities for purposes of locating them. Of the total runaway/thrown away youth, an estimated 1,190,900 (71 percent) could have been endangered during their runaway/thrown away episode by virtue of factors such as substance dependency, use of hard drugs, sexual or physical abuse, presence in a place where criminal activity was occurring, or extremely young age (13 years old or younger).

Jackbone Dixie is hoping their holiday single will spread awareness about this tragic, growing and avoidable epidemic. The song can be heard, for free, on the band's Myspace page. Of course, the band is always available to play a benefit or speak about their decision to regard the song and shed light on the cause. However, Jackbone Dixie would rather their fans understand the heartbreak these children have to endure, and even more so on Christmas. A link to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is also available per the band's MySpace page.

Jackbone Dixie sound defines the heartaches of life and outlines hopes for a better tomorrow. Often referencing their roots with influences such a Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and other contemporary country-rock, classic rock, and carefully selected bluegrass accents. The band mixes their originals with cover tunes that stand the test of time in the fabric of true American rock n' roll. The band's lead singer's (Emily Albaugh) voice is a haunting reminder of Molly Bee, Janis Joplin, and Linda Perry. However, Albaugh's range offers a more polished, yet smoky, air of subtle mystery to the band.  As the group's members take their turn at vocal lead, Richie Eddings and Sonny Larson both manifest a palpable annexation to the band. Talented in their own right, Eddings and Larson both boast an expansive knowledge within their own euphonious musical abilities.
