Oct. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- It holds a royal warrant by Great Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and now one of the world’s finest Champagne stands center stage as Michael’s On Naples in Long Beach, Calif. hosts “Yelloween,” an evening dedicated to Veuve Clicquot on Saturday, October 31.  The famous yellow label will be a ubiquitous presence throughout the restaurant that was just named Long Beach’s finest by the prestigious Zagat Guide.  A ‘30s French theme will be carried through with items furnished by the house of Veuve Clicquot and the rooftop deck will come alive with jazz guitar stylings of Bruce Baldwin.  Cost for the special 3-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef David Coleman is $40.  Call (562) 439-7080 for reservations.
Guests may order Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label NV for $12 by the flute, $60 by the bottle.  A number of specialty cocktails also will be served including several autumn themed martinis (e.g., orange chocolate, cider, pumpkin and spice apple) priced at $10.
“We’re delighted to announce our inaugural Yelloween – Michael’s on Naples version of Halloween filled with fine food, live music, seasonal cocktails and, most notably, a nod to the widow Clicquot,” said the restaurant’s General Manager Massimo Aronne.  “Whether you come in street clothes or are dressed up for the occasion, we welcome the public to our celebration.”
Veuve Clicquot can trace its roots back more than two centuries.  In 1772, Philippe Clicquot-Muiron established the original enterprise that in time became the house of Veuve Clicquot. His son, François Clicquot, married Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin in 1798, and when he died in 1805, left his widow in control of the company that eventually focused solely on producing fine Champagne.
During the Napoleonic Wars, Madame Clicquot made strides in promoting her product in royal courts throughout Europe, notably that of Imperial Russia. By the time she died in 1866, Veuve Clicquot had become a respected brand. Since 1987 the Veuve Clicquot company has been part of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group of luxury brands.
Situated in the heart of picturesque Naples Island -- Long Beach’s most exclusive neighborhood -- Michael’s on Naples has developed a devoted clientele fierce in their loyalty of the restaurant.  The critically acclaimed dining establishment is committed to the Slow Food Movement, a concept that reinforces the connection between “planet, plate and palate.”  The menu is designed to protect the heritage, tradition and culture of food (i.e., herbs and spices are fresh and never bottled, produce is organic and secured from local farmers, meats are organic and come from small-scale providers).  In addition to its renowned wine list, Michael’s On Naples offers a full bar.  For more information, call (562) 439-7080 or visit www.michaelsonnaples.com.
