Repainting The Face Of Urban Music And Fashion

Oct. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Promoters, musicians, models and Record Labels are expressing their concern about the negative connotation associated with the word “urban” Many industry professionals feel that it is time to define this ubiquitous word.

In an attempt to change the some times negative view urban music and fasion community leaders have approached Quiz aka the Urban Authority to discuss ways of using the upcoming Urban Fashion and Music Conference (UFM Conference).  Industry heads are hoping that input into the high profile event will have a positive impact on the local community.

The three-day Fashion and Music event will take place in July of 2010.  The date and location have not been announced yet. The conference will attract entertainment professionals from the United States and around the world.  Delegates will discuss a wide range of topics.

Birmingham has been dubbed England’s “Second City” and the organizers feel that it is the perfect place to have the conference.  In past years the conference has taken place in New York and Houston.  Past guests and sponsors read like the who’s who of music.  Sponsors such as Def Jam, Roc-a-Fella records, Sony, Bad Boy, Wu-Wear, Dada and others have supported this urban music extravaganza.  Past guests include KRS One, Kool Herc and Mathew Knowles.  The move to the UK is sure to attract and even broader range of fashion and music professionals.  Quiz Media plans to make the UFM Conference as big in the UK as it was in the US.
