An Outstanding New Free School For The Barking And Dagenham Community
Trust Seeks To Change A Community One Mind At A Time By Opening A New Multi-Cultural Free School
By: Abelle Free School
The vision of the Abelle Free School is to make a school in the heart of Barking and Dagenham that promotes the multi-cultural assorted qualities of the community yet promotes British values. Barking and Dagenham is a multi-cultural community. In the six schools closest to the proposed site, the percentage of students with English as a second language is around 50%. Teachers sometimes struggle to communicate with those children leading to neglect in other areas of learning. There is a clear need for a Free School that will emphasise academics as well as sports and music to give an all round education and instill a ‘can-do’ attitude in children.
Abelle Academy Trust continues to seek support from parents and have organized several community events such as family fun days to raise awareness and register interest. “The fun day was great and my kids really enjoyed playing the musical instruments,”
The trust hopes to gather interest through community outreach and excited parents speaking to work colleagues and friends. With a clear commitment to advance crucial British values, and a mandate to provide excellent education for all irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity, the Abelle Free School will meet the need of parents and children alike while shaping the next generations of leaders in Barking and Dagenham.
