Follow on Google News | Freddy Boutros Wins Prestigious Film AwardThe Cinema City International Film Festival, named one of the top twenty five film festivals in the country by Movie Maker Magazine, honored Freddy Boutros with the prestigious "Best Feature Screenplay Award" for his screenplay titled Leaving Hazard.

The screenplay was inspired by the 1991 Richard Marx song Hazard, and is about a young outcast in the small town of Hazard, Nebraska who is wrongfully accused of murdering his girlfriend and his struggles to prove his innocence in a town where everyone is convinced he's guilty. Boutros received a BFA in Screenwriting from the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City. He was the only member of his graduating class to complete two feature length screenplays during his senior year. His thesis script, Saving Sandy, was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting at The 12th Annual Dusty Awards and Film Festival. Moving to Los Angeles shortly after graduating, he has completed several features and television pilots, including Tainted, a series described as X-Men meets Melrose Place. The writer has already mapped out five years' worth of storylines for the series and launched www.taintedtv.com, a website he designed himself, to showcase the concept. # # # Deborah Hayter is a full-time publicist based in Los Angeles.
