For Australia’s war fighters and front line troops, ensuring their equipment and supplies are in the right place at the right time is critical to their success and survival.

Coordinated end-to-end transportation of large and heavy machinery, artillery, and food across land and sea is extremely difficult. Often enough, Defence logistics are coordinated within active war zones which are fraught with danger.

The former Minister for Defence, the Hon Joel Fitzgibbon MP, announced recently that the Government will improve logistics planning, management and execution through better systems, practices and facilities. “A robust, flexible and responsive logistics system is at the heart of the Defence Forces’ military capability,” Mr Fitzgibbon said.
