June 8, 2009 - PRLog -- The world’s leading community for the biotech supply chain professionals will be gathering at the South San Francisco Convention Center on October 19-20, 2009, for the second annual Biotech Supply Chain Academy.  The expanded conference titled “Rx for a Lean & Healthy Biotech Supply Chain: Collaborating for Progress” will include tracks for Risk Management, Talent Management, Supplier Management, and Systems Management.

Industry leaders and eminent members of the academia will address the challenges and solutions through collaboration and cooperation between suppliers, manufacturers, and customers. “The executive leaders of the biopharma industry and academia are determined to shape the supply chain of the young biotech industry which faces formidable challenges of effective patient care, high-cost of drug development and its time line,” says Professor Devendra Mishra, the executive director of the Bio Supply Management Alliance, the producer of the event.  “End-to end connectivity with information in a global marketplace, deployment of technology, Federal regulations here and abroad, and overall cost reduction in the cost of the stakeholders are key challenges.”
