Average Work Week Increasing For Most American Workers

American families are experiencing considerable stress as a result of the increasing work week, and not surprising since many families are now working longer hours than their parents did.  

The work face has changed from 30 years ago when the average family had a male figure earning the families income with the majority of women staying home to raise the kids.  Today in the majority of cases it requires two incomes to maintain a middle class status and now we’ve got mom and dad working longer hours resulting in a substantial increase in latch key kids.

This increase in the work week has put a lot of stress on the family unit.  Some even speculate that it has a great deal to do with the increased divorce rate and the increase in crimes in which children are involved.

Increasing work weeks, demands to do more with less, impossible deadlines, increasing family demands and it’s no wonder stress in on the rise and so are physical ailments.  The American dream is often becoming more of a nightmare than a dream.
