PM Moon Publishers' Author Scott Heydt says that Mice Don't Taste Like Chicken

May 16, 2009 - PRLog -- According to Scott, Mice Don't Taste Like Chicken,  is the first time he has won a prize for his writing.
"In April 2009, I received Honorable Mention in a contest sponsored by PM Moon Publishers, LLC for my novel, Mice Don't Taste Like Chicken. It is the first official contest prize I've won for my novel writing.

I've written every since elementary school, dabbling in poetry and creative prose. I became serious about authoring novels in 2005 when I suffered a serious running injury that sidelined my marathon running career.
My favorite genre is young adult and middle grade school-based fiction. As a teacher, I'm full of stories to share about the environment where children spend the majority of their time. "
 
Scott continued, "What's most attractive about PM Moon is their commitment to creating a family of authors.  Due to their kindness and professional guidance, I already feel like part of the family."

Scott Heydt grew up in suburban Philadelphia.   He currently resides with his wife in Chalfont, Pennsylvania where he teaches for Central Bucks School District.

Scott's wife agreed,  "Scott deserves this opportunity.  When he's not teaching full-time, taking graduate courses, or volunteering, he's working on perfecting his novel.  I'm glad his hard work is paying off."

A graduate of Moravian College with degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology, Heydt attributes his passion for and knowledge of writing to the great teachers who guided him in the past.

What is he working on now?

" I'm completing edits of my novel Mice Don't Taste Like Chicken. Also, I've begun research work for my next book, a nonfiction, young adult leadership text about the changes in the teenage brain and how understanding those changes can influence relationships and improve student leadership capabilities."
