By: Empica Paul Brown Transport is giving up smaller bases at Aztec West and Keynsham to move in to a 45,370 sq ft unit at Pucklechurch Trading Estate north of Bristol. “Our business is still thriving and we were outgrowing the other two premises, so it really was time to look around for somewhere to consolidate our operation,” said Paul Brown Transport’s operations manager Norman Bailey. “This site at Pucklechurch is ideal for us right now and will suit us for some time to come. It is reassuring to know that we are now part of the BristolWorks network of industrial space in and around Bristol and that SEGRO will help us expand when the time comes.” Pucklechurch Trading Estate is part of SEGRO’s BristolWorks cluster of four estates in and around the city, and the letting to Paul Brown Transport is another example of the landlord’s commitment to practical customer support through its active management policy. Paul Brown Transport was established 20 years ago and now operates 20 trucks, ranging between 3.5 and 44 tonnes. Its business is now divided between haulage and warehousing. Among numerous warehousing projects, Paul Brown Transport provides a total UK fulfilment service, including running the parts and accessories department for the Cadac range of barbeques and handling the distribution of the firm’s products to retailers throughout the country. In an effort to reduce the mileage covered by the company’s trucks and its carbon footprint impact, much of the firm’s haulage work is through the FORTEC pallet network which distributes good around the country from a central hub in the Midands. Mr Bailey added:”We need to be close to the motorways and Pucklechurch Trading Estate is in an ideal location for us, easy for everyone to get to and just a few minutes from the M4. “The knowledge that SEGRO will help us to move on to bigger premises if we need them is very reassuring. Having just expended a lot of effort searching out the right premises for this move it is comforting to know that any future move will be as easy as possible.“ SEGRO’s Bristol area manager Kevin Williamson said: “Our active management policy supports our customers and helps them when their businesses grow. “One of the benefits of having such a large cluster of industrial space in such a tight geographic area – the BristolWorks cluster - is that we are easily able to find something to suit a customer’s needs within our stock. If Paul Brown Transport want a bigger unit in the future, I am sure we will be able to find them something to suit.” Jonny Allen of commercial property agents Colliers CRE, which secured the letting to Paul Brown Transport, said: “Pucklechurch is one of the key industrial parks around Bristol and this firm has made a good choice for its relocation. The entire city is on the doorstep and the motorway network is just a few minutes away.” Chris Miles of commercial property agents King Sturge, which also markets the BristoWorks cluster, said: “This demonstrates once again the strength of the BristolWorks offer and SEGRO’s reputation as landlord able to attract high quality businesses to the Bristol area.” SEGRO owns and operates four industrial estates under the http://www.BristolWorks.co.uk banner – the Beeches, in Yate; Ashton Vale in South Liberty Lane, Ashton; Emerald Park, Emersons Green and Pucklechurch Trading Estate.
