Georgia's E. Smith Heating & Air Conditioning President Named Contractor of the Year

April 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Barry Abernathy was recognized as the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia Contractor of the Year for 2008. He is President of E. Smith Heating and Air Conditioning in Marietta, Georgia.  The Georgia Contractor of the Year Award is given to an individual who works to improve the industry and encourages professionalism, continuing education and strong customer service.   Mr. Abernathy is the immediate past President of the Cobb Heating and Air Association, Board member and past President of the statewide association (CAAG), member of the State Codes Advisory Board for HVAC, and serves on a local committee to help homeowners resolve issues with contractors.  He has been a respected member of the heating and air industry since 1975.  

The Conditioned Air Association of Georgia (CAAG) is a state-wide, non profit trade association which represents fully licensed, professional, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) contractors who perform installation, maintenance and repair services for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers.

CAAG, formed in 1980, has over 1000 members in 21 local chapters statewide. The membership is composed of a great diversity in sizes of member firms from the very large mechanical contractors to the very small family owned businesses. Regardless of the size, CAAG represents the professionals in the industry who have a genuine interest in improving the industry for both the customer and the contractor.

CAAG’s goal is to promote quality and professionalism in the HVACR industry in the state of Georgia and to demonstrate genuine concern for the safety and satisfaction of our customers by consistently providing quality products and services.
