Toronto Company Creates a T-shirt Response to Billy Bob Thornton CBC Interview

After seeing the interview I felt like a funny T-shirt response was in order. The design shows that Canadians do have gravy - gravy, symbolizing passion and self expression. When the Canadian beaver is pushed he will toss you out (unless you high tail it out first). To equate Canadians with dull mash potatoes with no gravy is a typical mistake many make. Canadians are reserved civil and polite, but deeply passionate and decent. A quick look at Hollywood talent landscape will show a disproportionate high numbers of Canadians in movies, TV and music.

Here is my take on what happened:
Billy Bob Thornton and his band The Boxmasters visited the CBC radio show Q. Right from the beginning it was obvious that something was wrong, Billy Bob acts like he cannot understand the most basic questions. Later he goes off topic and rambles on about nothing. As a Canadian watching this interview I was at first amused but as it went on I found it less funny and more mean spirited. Jian Ghomeshi was patient polite and indulged the big stars nonsense. Unfortunately an ego this size is hard to sooth. At one point Billy Bob talks about Canadian audiences just sitting there not throwing things like in the US - dull like mash potatoes without gravy. Well my thought is that we would love to throw some big ego right out of Canada, unfortunately he couldn't handle some boos and high tailed out of Canada already. Well at least we have a T-shirt to remember this fun event.
No hard feelings Billy Bob it is all in good fun, own up to it and apologize to Jian Ghomeshi and Canadians and all will be forgotten. The ability to own up to your mistake is the mature brave things to do without your behaviour seems lacking like mash poutine without gravy or cheese...
