Plaster Testing Methods and InstrumentsThe adhesive strength of plaster is of crucial importance.
By: Shirley Wu Labthink, the excellent provider of testing instruments and testing services, is devoted to provide most excellent and complete quality control solutions for pharmaceutical, foodstuff, cosmetics, packaging, printing, adhesive, automotive, petrochemistry, environment, biology, new energy, construction, aviation and electronic industries worldwide. In order to help plaster manufacturers better understand the Testing Methods for Plaster Adhesive Strength, a detailed introduction of testing items, methods and instruments is as follows: A. Primary Adhesive Strength Testing for Plasters Take Labthink CZY-G Primary Adhesive Tester as an example. Its testing principle is rolling ball principle and made up of incline board, base, stainless steel ball and ball acceptor, etc. First, set the incline board in a 30 degree angle against the horizontal board; paste the adhesive side of the plaster sample on to the incline board. Place a stainless steel ball on the incline board and adjust its primary place, release the ball. It rolls across the adhesive side of the plaster. According to the biggest stainless steel ball, we can determine the primary adhesive strength. B. Lasting Adhesive Strength Testing for Plaster Take Labthink CZY-6S Lasting Adhesive Tester and YGJ-02 Adhesive Tape Rolling Tester as examples. The testing apparatus is made up of lasting adhesive tester (including testing panel, testing stand and return load board) and adhesive tape rolling tester. Put the adhesive side onto the surface of testing panel and the load board, press on those sample tape for 3 rounds with the roller and lie aside for 5 minutes. Place the sample vertically onto the testing stands, and hang standard poises along the length of the specimen. Record the slide time and the falling time. C. The Peeling Strength Testing for Plasters According to the pharmacopoeia, 180 degree peeling strength testing is adopted. Take Labthink BLD-200S Peeling Strength Tester or XLW Auto Tensile Tester as the example. Stick the back side of the plaster on to the testing panel with double-sided adhesive tape. Strengthen with adhesive tape so that the sample can be even onto the testing panel. Place clean polymer film on the adhesive side of the sample, and roll back and forth for three times with 2000g roller on the prepared sample to avoid bubbles. Lie the sample aside for 20 to 40 minutes before testing. Bend the polymer film and clamp the free end of the film and testing panel on to the tester. Peeling side must be in linear direction with the tester. Set the testing speed at 300mm/min±10mm/ The above is a brief method introduction of plaster adhesive strength; Labthink is willing to have further communication with plaster manufacturers for the adhesive strength testing and quality control.
