| WEGENER VPs to Address Content Distribution to Key Audiences at NAB 2009Presentations to discuss MicroCasting™ radio programming paradigm and emerging video content distribution model
The NAB Show, which runs from April 18-23rd in the Las Vegas Convention Center, is the world’s largest electronic media show that covers the development, management, and delivery of content across all mediums. WEGENER will exhibit in Booth SU7913. Part of the NAB Engineering Broadcast Conference, the Radio Engineering Forum is a daylong event on Monday, April 20. During the “Microcasting – Applying Automation with Customization to Radio Station Affiliates” session, Gary Pelkey, WEGENER VP System Architect, will describe the advantages of MicroCasting™ The Content Distribution Forum, a targeted technology pavilion on the NAB show floor, sponsored by the World Teleport Association, will offer three days of interactive case studies. WEGENER’s Vice President of Marketing, Kamy Merithew, was selected to participate in the panel, “How the Global Video Content Cloud Will Transform Your Business.” The panelists will provide insight on an emerging model for video content distribution. Unlike today’s tightly controlled, point-to-point systems, with this approach video content enters an Internet-based “Cloud” system as data packets, then finds its way to its destination, and lastly reassembles itself. Merithew and a panel of experts will review current Cloud technology, debate its advantages and disadvantages, and offer forecasts for the future. The panel will occur at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21st. Gary Pelkey is a Vice President System Architect for WEGENER.
