Free swimming lessons for over 50s in Swansea

Are you a non swimmer or weak swimmer?
Have you always wanted to learn to swim?

If the answer is yes, then Swansea Council would like to hear from you.

Thanks to the Welsh Assembly Government’s Strategy for Older People, three Active Swansea pools are offering 50 free swimming places for the over 50s, giving them the chance to learn to swim and have fun in a 2 week crash course

Everyone who finishes the 2 week crash course will also receive a £10.00 Active Swansea reward voucher to spend on any physical activity within the Active Swansea venues.

Dave Osborne Indoor Leisure Manager said “This 2 week crash course will consist of 10 x 45 minute lessons from Monday to Friday from Monday 16th March.”

“This is a terrific opportunity for adults who have always wanted to learn to swim and is a fun start to the year. Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise and is something that is open to almost anyone, all ages, all abilities, and is an activity that you can do on your own or as a family.”

The free courses will run at these venues

• Penlan Leisure Centre from 2.00pm – 2.45pm;
• Penyrheol Leisure Centre from 3.00pm – 3.45pm
• Morriston Leisure Centre from 8.30am – 9.15pm.
