In his more than eighty compelling pieces of work, Feiling’s focus is on his feelings on the state of America since the tragic events of 9-11 and the state of the war in Iraq. But it is a message of hope that Feiling sends, including the end of his own loneliness and a new vision for America. Like in “The Unending Dream (9.11.01)”: This imprinting made its mark As forever – we were scarred What matters the most – is not even our own But the thousands – whom were stolen Feiling also includes tributes to his favorite musicians or writers such as Bruce Springsteen or Patti Smith, using their words as a springboard into moving poetry of his own. And mixed within gripping text are a few short, interesting and sometimes humorous personal haikus for the readers to enjoy as well. “And though it may seem an awful long time in coming….some day we all will find Peace,” Feiling said. “And Peace is eternal.” Veined, comes on the heels of Feiling’s first book of poetry, Worm into Wasp, where he discussed his dreams, his family and his altered view of reality. About the author Geoff Feiling has loved poetry and books, in general, for as long as he can remember and is greatly influenced by the Beat generation/Black Mountain College poets, especially Robert Creeley, Allen Ginsberg, and Kenneth Koch. He attends college in Allegheny County, Pa., where he hopes to become a literature professor. He suffered a traumatic head injury when he was struck by a vehicle in 1997 but it hasn’t stopped his passion for writing, which includes another book of poetry, Worm into Wasp.
