Avila is the vice president and head of the employee benefits department for Carrion, Laffitte & Casellas, a leading insurance brokerage firm in Puerto Rico that is dedicated to providing tailored insurance programs and services that are focused on each client's unique needs. Angel has been in this capacity since 2006 and is depended on to oversee the structuring, placement and management of group health, life and disability products as well as welfare programs. He has over fourteen years of experience in the insurance industry, servicing all levels of business client, and creating innovative alternate funding arrangements. Prior to joining CL&C, he held various senior level management positions within high profile insurance companies and brokerage firms including IKON Benefits Group Inc. Angel graduated from the Williams School of Business at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with a B.S.B.A and is an esteemed member of the Xavier Alumni Association. Additionally, Angel holds the designations of Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow and Managed Healthcare Professional. At home in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he assumes an active philanthropic profile within the community and enjoys his spare time by being with friends and family, appreciating fine wine and reading.
