Two Creative Forces Join Together To Create One Professional Runway Event in VA

Oct. 28, 2008 - PRLog -- Butterfly Productions and Da Ownerz Productions & Entertainment have joined forces to create the runway event, “FASHION: A Must” to be held May 2009 in Norfolk, Virginia.

“When I received this request I was honored and excited that Butterfly Productions would be able to assist in the production of another runway event and also given the chance to broaden our collaborative efforts in the form of fashion”, stated Sharan Nixon, Founder/CEO of Butterfly Productions, the home of Baltimore’s Fashion Week.

Da Ownerz Productions & Entertainment is extending this invitation to both local and national designers to participate in this inaugural event.  “I was not sure of whom we should contact to assist us with the production of our event, but I was referred to Butterfly Productions by a friend in Atlanta.  She stated, “Why don’t you contact the people who organized Baltimore’s Fashion Week”, so I did.  I believe this fashion venture is what we will need to have a professional and successful event. I am excited to be working with such a production team”, stated Marcus Jernigan, Co- Founder of Da Ownerz Productions and Entertainment.

Andrew Coker, CO-Founder of Da Ownerz Productions and Entertainment stated, “This is definitely what Norfolk, VA and surrounding 7 cities needs and what it has been missing. It is sad to see culture and fashion unfold the way that it has. Here, everyone who thinks they are doing a service are actually doing an injustice to our industry of culture and fashion when they host fashion events. I stray away from FASHION SHOWS because I already know what I am going to get and that is a fatigue sense of feeling, head ache, incorporated with lateness. So this CHAIRITY RUNWAY EVENT will be the total opposite, it will be what Virginia and its 7 cities has been missing and that is excitement, creativity, and a nonstop exciting show!”  

One of the featured creative designers for the 2009 runway event is Angelo Ragin, founder/ CEO of Loso Couture. During an interview with Marcus Jernigan he was asked, “What makes you worthy enough to set the tone for 2009’s Runway Event?” “I bring an inspiration that sets my designs apart from many other designers. My inspiration is based off my collegiate experience traveling around Eastern Asia. The initiative is to promote alternative style clothing, the objectives are to reach the hearts of citizens from various cultures around the world, the ideas are abundant and the creativity and effort are both priceless, stated Angelo Ragin.”  Part of the proceeds from his line will be used to send one student a year to study abroad in hopes of enriching culture through the influences of there experience.

This upcoming runway event will focus on fresh, innovative and creative designers interested in showcasing their talents on a different level of exposure.
