James C. Fell has been named an honored member in services by Princeton Premier.

James C. Fell, senior program director for the Pacific Institute for Research & Evaluation, has been chosen for inclusion in the 2008-2009 Princeton Premier Registry.
 
Oct. 22, 2008 - PRLog -- James C. Fell is a senior program director for the Pacific Institute for Research & Evaluation, one of the nation’s preeminent nonprofit public health organizations.  He has been in this capacity since 2001 and is depended on to manage projects and conduct research related to reducing the incidence of impaired driving. Presently, James is evaluating the effectiveness of traffic safety enforcement programs such as sobriety checkpoints and completing research on increasing safety belt usage by teens.  James is a grant-funded investigator for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  In this role, he investigates the effects of the minimum drinking age law as it relates to teenage traffic deaths. In his earliest service to PIRE, James served as director of traffic safety and enforcement programs in the division of policy analysis and training.  In that role, he directed various programs that addressed over-service practices, violation penalties, enforcement strategies, violent crime reduction and impaired driving. Prior to joining PIRE, James accumulated more than three decades of experience in traffic safety and research through various senior level positions within esteemed organizations.  In 1969, he was the chief of research and evaluation for traffic safety programs and manager of the fatality analysis reporting system for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  Additionally, James has authored more than eighty articles for scientific publications and industry journals.  He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo and holds a master’s degree in human factors engineering.  James serves on the national board of directors for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, is a member of the International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety as well as the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
