At Age 14 Savannah Britt Takes Fashion Magazine Sector by Storm

Oct. 18, 2008 - PRLog -- The fashion magazine industry is big business. Bookstore shelves are lined with fashion magazines that cover all the latest issues and trends in the fashion world. But one publication, Girlpez Fashion Magazine, stands out from the competition. Instead of being founded and run by someone with an Ivy League degree in publishing, journalism, or marketing, the magazine has been catapulted to success by a 14-year-old with a passion for fashion.

The founder, Savannah Britt, is not your average 14-year-old. While most young ladies her age would be busy chasing boys and fighting with their parents over how short they can wear their skirts, she’s active in the business world, busily creating an empire. And it didn’t start recently; she’s been on an entrepreneurial mission for years, and there’s no end in sight.

“I wrote and published my first piece, a poem, when I was only eight years old,” says Britt. “That made me want to be involved in publishing even more. I fell in love with the creativity of the entire process.”

She gained experience, building a Web site aimed at empowering 12-to-16-year-old girls. And while many girls her age are dreaming of stars, she’s off conducting interviews with such people as Diamond, and Shwayze. She’s also reported on such notables as Chris Brown, Sean Kingston, Lil’ Wayne, and Leona Lewis. She’s no stranger to the flip-side, either, having been interviewed for such publications as New York Cool and the Courier Post. She’s even received a personal letter from Teen Vogue editor in chief, Amy Astley, congratulating her success.

“I love being active in the community. I regularly attend fashion shows, community social events, and philanthropic functions,” adds Britt. “While others watch television after school, I’m busy offering seminars on how to publish a magazine. Plus, right now I’m in sales mode, working on selling ad space. I’m thrilled at the success this magazine has achieved so far."
