By: LINOpinion The new global R&D centre is part of a $50 million (Rs 200 Cr) multi-year investment in India that Carrier announced last November. It will develop industry-leading products and technology and support Carrier’s expanding manufacturing operations in India. “Breaking ground on our R&D center site marks a new milestone in our growth in India,” said Darnis. “This facility will further strengthen our position in India and enable us to bring the latest technology along with innovative and energy-efficient products and services to the local market.” India has tremendous growth potential and is a strategically important market for Carrier. This R&D unit will not only facilitate the local development of new products and technology but also enable faster transfer of appropriate technology from across Carrier to India and its customization to suit the Indian climatic conditions.
