Only 6 percent of all plastics worldwide are recycled today but this is mainly a problem
of regulations, organisation and compliance.  Thermosetting plastics are hard to
recycle and the reasons are missing economic recycling technologies. Thermosetting
plastics can not be remoulded or heated but now several research institutes and companies around the world working on a method to recycle it down to there chemical units with ionic liquids. Ionic Liquids are part of the green chemistry developments and on a industrial scale
economical in the future. Ionic Liquids are salts that are liquid at room temperature, their
non-detectable vapour pressures and unique solvent properties provide the possibility fro celan manufacturing. Ionic Liquids have to potentials to enter all industries with new applications and develop a billion dollar market worldwide the next years.
