Ragazzo Young Progeny May Be Heading to Hong Kong For 2008 Olympics

July 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Following the recent announcement of the Canadian Show Jumping Team who will be participating in the 2008 Olympics, Hartpury Home Farm were delighted to discover that Ragazzo progeny, Rayana Chiara, has been selected as ‘Reserve’, paired with Olympian Veteran, Jonathan Asselin of Calgary, AB.

An outstanding season which has seen the young nine year old mare placed 3rd in the $50,000 Sea to Sky GP at the Fort Langley Classic, 3rd in the £75,000 Keg Grand Prix and 10th in the $200,000 1.60m CN reliability Grand Prix at the Spruce Meadows CSI5* National Tournament, clearly impressed selectors and, despite her young age, her consistency and talent has been justly rewarded by Team Canada selectors.

Asselin cites the young horse as his top ride; quite a statement when you consider that Canada’s favourite show jumper recently won the Kubota Cup Grand Prix and Warsteiner Grand Prix on other horses from his Attache Stables’; the mare clearly possesses the same ‘something special’ as her Sire, Ragazzo.

Hartpury College is now the proud owner of the beautiful Hannoverian stallion, purchasing him this year from Flyinge – The National Stud of Sweden. Ragazzo (pictured above) is approved by 13 studbooks across Europe and is a well known producer of top quality dressage and show-jumping competition horses, with his offspring inheriting his charismatic and amenable character.
