PRLog -- The Wellness Studio will be offering a 12 week Whole-listic Childbirth Course Monday nights from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. Classes begin June 16 through September 15. This 12 week course is funded by a March of Dimes Community Award. This childbirth course is completely unique because unlike other childbirth classes that require women to be in their 3rd trimester, this series is open to all pregnant women regardless of their due date. The Whole-listic Childbirth Initiative recognizes that women in all stages of pregnancy can benefit from support, education and quality “me” time. High levels of stress increase a woman’s risk for preterm labor and birth. Babies born early and too small have increased risks for health problems during the newborn period, long-term disabilities and even death. This 12 week course includes exercises on managing stress, provides information on having a healthy pregnancy and preparing for your baby’s Birth Day. Using the March of Dimes curriculum “The Pregnancy Workshop” as its foundation, classes will combine mindful breathing, relaxation techniques, movement, childbirth preparation, dancing, gentle stretching and more. Each class will also include healthy refreshments. The investment is a nominal registration fee of $12 and scholarships are available.
