Reducing Biological load in Indoor environment, is first step towards Healthy Indoor Environment

Efforts on concentrating on dilution, eliminating their food sources, eradicating amplification or reservoirs site by inhibiting a spores’ ability to reproduce will go a long way in reducing the biological load in the indoor environment.

April 13, 2008 - PRLog -- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is of particular concern since most of us spend a substantial amount of our time indoors, be it at our office, home or other commercial buildings and establishments.

Understanding the Microbial Threats

Microorganisms are part of our everyday lives. Many of the organisms are helpful and a natural part of our environment. Others can and do cause health problems ranging from simple discomfort to physical irritation, allergic sensitization and disease.

Microbial body parts, reproductive parts (spores) and metabolic products (gasses and chemicals) all play a role in human well being, comfort, health and productivity. Some chemicals produced by fungi (known as mycotoxins) are extremely dangerous. All mycotoxins are known to be immunosuppressants with chronic exposure, and some are potent carcinogens

Mycotoxins

Many molds are capable of producing compounds which are toxic to humans. More than 200 mycotoxins have been identified from common mold.

One of these, Aflatoxin B1 is one of the most potent carcinogens known. It has been positively linked to liver cancer and is a suspected cause of lung cancer. (Source: US-CDC)

How to know what is really affecting me or my environment?

Baseline sampling:

The first steps are to do an environment health check by doing an Indoor air quality “IAQ” baseline audit. This baseline sampling will give you a good understanding of your tested environments and identify the source(s), if any.

For more information on Indoor air quality baseline sampling, please visit http://www.iaqsg.com/Diagnostics-Indoor-Environmenta-Qual...

At IAQ, they halp you to " Determine the Source- Define the Cause- Deliver the solution"

"It is impractical to completely eliminate all mold spores from our environment. Efforts on concentrating on dilution, eliminating their food sources, eradicating amplification or reservoirs  site  by inhibiting a spores’ ability to reproduce will go a long way in reducing the biological load in the indoor environment,".says Satish Bakhda
