Follow on Google News | World Insulation Forecasts to 2011 & 2016Global demand for insulation materials is expected to expand 4.9 percent per year to $33.4 billion in 2011, with volume demand reaching 20.1 million square meters of R-1 value
By: Sunil Nair Asia/Pacific to pace global regional demand The most rapid growth in insulation demand will continue to occur in the Asia/Pacific region, driven largely by increases in China and India, two of the world’s largest emerging economies. Demand will benefit from strong building construction activity and increasing frequency of use. The expanding production of refrigerators, freezers and other insulation- sing appliances in the region will also boost consumption. Foamed plastics to remain dominant material Foamed plastics are the most widely used insulation material, accounting for nearly half of value demand in dollar terms in 2006. Unlike other insulation products (primarily mineral wool and fiberglass) that are heavily concentrated in particular geographic regions, plastic foam insulation materials are produced and sold worldwide, and are suitable for use in all market applications, including both residential and nonresidential construction, as well as appliances, heating and cooling equipment and other products. Other factors, including rising energy prices and government regulations, will positively impact demand for insulation materials as well. This is particularly true in Western Europe and North America, where gains in demand are partially dependent upon the adoption of standards that call for higher building insulation levels. Higher heating and cooling costs provide consumers with a strong incen- tive to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings. Study coverage This new industry study, World Insulation, is priced at $5500. Historical data (1996, 2001, 2006) plus forecasts to 2011 and 2016 are provided for insulation by material, by geographic region and for 20 individual countries. Demand is presented in millions of US dollars and millions of square meters of R-1 value. The study also considers market environment factors, evaluates market shares and profiles 38 global industry competitors Table of Contents Introduction Executive Summery Market Environment General World Economic Overview Recent Historical Trends Macroeconomic Outlook World Demographic Overview Urban Population Outlook Households World Fixed Investment Overview World Building Construction Expenditures Residential Building Nonresidential Building World Refrigerator & Freezer Trends Material Variations in Thermal Resistance & R-Values Legislation & Regulatory Considerations Materials-Based Regulation Energy-Based Regulation Overview General World Insulation Outlook Regional Demand by Insulating Capacity Relationship to Capital Investment Regional Demand by Dollar Value World Insulation Trade Flows Insulation Production by Region Materials & Markets General Insulation Demand by Material Foamed Plastics Dollar-Value Trends Weight & Market Trends Fiberglass Dollar-Value Trends Weight & Market Trends Mineral Wool Dollar-Value Trends Weight & Market Trends Other Insulation Materials Dollar-Value Trends Weight & Market TrendsInsulation Demand by Market Construction Industrial, HVAC & OEM North America North America United States Canada Mexico Western Europe Western Europe Germany France Italy United Kingdom Spain The Netherlands Other Western Europe Asia/Pacific Asia/Pacific China Japan India South Korea Australia Taiwan Other Asia/Pacific Other Regions Latin America Brazil Argentina Other Latin America Eastern Europe Russia Poland Other Eastern EuropeAfrica/ Turkey Other Africa/Mideast Industry Structure General Industry Composition Market Share Industry Leaders Other Key Producers Product Development & Manufacturing Competitive Strategies Marketing & Distribution Mergers & Acquisitions Cooperative Agreements List of Tables & Charts Executive Summery 1 Summary Table Market Environment 1 World Gross Domestic Product by Region 2 World Fixed Capital Investment by Region 3 World Building Construction Expenditures by Region 4 World Residential Building Construction Expenditures by Region 5 World Nonresidential Building Construction Expenditures by Region 6 World Refrigerator & Freezer Shipments by Region 7 World Population by Region Overview Cht Relationship Between Per Capita Insulation Demand & Per Capita Fixed Investment, 2006 1 World Insulation Demand by Volume 2 World Insulation Demand by Value 3 World Insulation Trade Flows 4 World Insulation Production by Region 5 Insulation R-Values by Material Materials & Markets 1 World Insulation Demand by Material Cht World Insulation Demand by Material, 2006 2 Dollar-Based Foamed Plastic Insulation Demand by Region 3 Weight-Based Foamed Plastic Insulation Demand by Region & Market Cht World Foamed Plastic Insulation Demand by Region, 2006 4 Dollar-Based Fiberglass InsulationDemand by Region 5 Weight-Based Fiberglass Insulation Demand by Region & Market Cht World Fiberglass Insulation Demand by Region, 2006 6 Dollar-Based Mineral Wool Insulation Demand by Region 7 Weight-Based Mineral Wool Insulation Demand by Region & Market Cht World Mineral Wool Insulation Demand by Region, 2006 8 Dollar-Based Demand for Other Insulation Materials by Region 9 Weight-Based Demand for Other Insulation Materials by Region & Market Cht World Demand for Other Insulation Materials by Region, 2006 10 World Insulation Demand by Market Industry Structure 1 Insulation Activity for Selected Manufacturers, 2006 Cht World Insulation Market Share by Company, 2006 2 Selected Acquisitions & Divestitures 3 Selected Cooperative Agreements For more information kindly visit: http://www.bharatbook.com/ Website: www.bharatbook.com End
