A Time of Mourning, A Call to Peace

Honoring a Prophet's Legacy and Confronting Tragedy with Faith, Compassion, and the Courage to Heal
By: DonnaInk Publications

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Sept. 29, 2025 - PRLog -- DonnaInk Publications joins members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and communities of faith across the globe in mourning the passing of President Russell M. Nelson, beloved prophet and servant-leader. At 101 years of age, President Nelson returned to his Heavenly Father after a life of healing, ministry, and unwavering devotion. His legacy is one of spiritual clarity, global unity, and a call to "let God prevail" in all things.

As we reflect on his extraordinary life, we also grieve a devastating act of violence in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where a sacred chapel became the site of a mass shooting. This senseless tragedy claimed and injured multiple lives, shaking a community that had gathered in peace and prayer. We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected and stand in solidarity with all who seek refuge in faith.

While DonnaInk Publications represents a diverse catalog of secular titles across genres and voices that are not Church-affiliated, we remain personally and profoundly committed to our faith in Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. We honor and respect—with deep reverence—the beliefs of our friends, associates, authors, readership, and business partners. In moments of sorrow and reflection, we find unity not in sameness, but in shared compassion and spiritual dignity—especially here in America, where our right to Freedom of Worship is woven into the very fabric of our Nation's founding.

In times like these, we turn to sacred scripture for comfort, courage, and clarity:

"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." — Romans 12:21

"…to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort…" — Mosiah 18:9

"Now, I speak unto you concerning your families—if men smite you, or your families, once, and ye bear it patiently and revile not against them, neither seek revenge, ye shall be rewarded." — Doctrine and Covenants 98:23–24

President Nelson taught that "contention is of the devil" and urged us to be peacemakers in a world torn by division. In his honor, and in memory of those lost in Grand Blanc, we recommit ourselves to love, to healing, and to the sacred work of building Zion in our homes and communities.

Let us walk forward with courage, clothed in compassion, and anchored in the eternal truth that light will always overcome darkness.
