| ![]() Webb Shadle Public Library Awarded $10,000 National Grant to Enhance Virtual AccessibilityBy: Jazmin Morrison The library's proposal includes the purchase of a Neat collaboration board, which will enhance virtual services and provide better access to essential resources for community members facing accessibility issues and related challenges. Neat's video collaboration technology, combined with existing virtual services across the United States, offers limitless possibilities. Providing these essential virtual services at the heart of our community will have a significant impact—especially for those with scheduling conflicts, unreliable transportation, physical limitations, no home internet, or no access to a video conferencing device. Neat's intuitive devices and systems will help minimize barriers between physical and virtual spaces, supporting individuals with disabilities, including seniors, those with mobility challenges, mood disorders, and mental or physical impairments. With Neat and the internet, the possibilities are limitless. "We are excited to offer a wider variety of services to help those in our community in a new way," said JoEllen Glick, Director of Shadle Public Library. "With the support of Neat and the ALA grant, we will be able to better serve our community, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need, no matter their abilities, transportation challenges, or comfort with technology."
