AMARILLO, Texas - July 8, 2025 - PRLog -- The Hope & Healing Place invites the community to participate in Wings of Hope, a special butterfly release and remembrance event celebrating loved ones who have died. This free, family-friendly gathering will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Amarillo.

The butterfly serves as a meaningful symbol of the grief journey—reflecting transformation, renewal, and remembrance. At the heart of the event will be a mass release of 500 butterflies, offering a moment of shared reflection, healing, and hope.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy activities for all ages, including:
  • Chalk walk memorial
  • Face Painting
  • Butterfly-themed crafts
  • Commemorative butterfly release

While the event is free to attend, participants may choose to reserve a butterfly for $25 or 5 for $100 in memory of a loved one. Individual butterflies can be purchased in the Fundraisers section of our website at www.hopeandhealingplace.org.

Supporting Grieving Families in the Texas Panhandle

Grief is a deeply personal and complex experience. For children, especially, the death of a loved one can have lasting emotional, behavioral, and academic effects if not addressed with care and support.

The Hope & Healing Place (HHP) is the only dedicated grief support center in the Texas Panhandle, providing free services to children, teens, families, and individuals navigating the aftermath of death. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing space where healing can begin.

As a nonprofit organization, HHP relies on fundraising events like Wings of Hope to continue offering services at no cost to families in need.
