AxisTech Expands Service Offering with Design-Build and Design-Assist Capabilities

Featuring: Centerm Expansion Project at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, BC Canada

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - June 1, 2025 - PRLog -- AxisTech, a leader in fibre optic installations, infrastructure and low-voltage systems integration, has successfully completed a major telecommunications infrastructure scope as part of the Centerm Expansion Project at the Port of Vancouver. This project represents the official launch of AxisTech's Design-Build and Design-Assist service models, now available to public and private sector clients across British Columbia.

As part of this high-impact infrastructure development project, AxisTech was selected to install and commission over 100 kilometres of fibre optic cabling and to provide integrated low-voltage solutions to support the modernization of one of Canada's most critical port terminals.

Project Scope and Deliverables
AxisTech was responsible for delivering a fully integrated fibre optic backbone that supports terminal expansion activities, port security infrastructure, access control for entry and exit gates, rail logistics, and VPA operations. Services were delivered under a Design-Assist model, with AxisTech supporting the engineering team with early-phase planning, procurement, and scheduling throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Scope of Work:
* Over 100 km of fibre optic cabling, from 6 to 144 strand configurations
* Fibre splicing, testing, labeling, and documentation
* Aerial and underground installation techniques
* Industrial PC, intercom, and touchscreen integration
* Outdoor-rated CCTV with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) functionality
* Network connectivity for security infrastructure and closed systems
* Coordination with general contractors and terminal operators
* On-site safety and fire protection compliance

Project Challenges and Collaboration
The CXP required AxisTech to operate within a live, fully operational container terminal while maintaining critical network uptime and adhering to an aggressive construction schedule. Material procurement was complicated by global supply chain shortages, which AxisTech addressed through strategic sourcing and proactive planning.

"AxisTech has been an integral part of our success on the Centerm Expansion Project and South Shore Access Project. One of the most difficult parts of our project has been working on a live container terminal while maintaining its operations, and AxisTech has risen to the occasion multiple times to overcome various challenges. Chris Pertch, Electrical Project Manager, CXP
