AxisTech Delivers 125km Fibre Optic Expansion for Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - June 25, 2025 - PRLog -- Axis Technical Services, a leading provider of telecommunications infrastructure solutions, has successfully completed a 125-kilometre fibre optic expansion for Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation (CBBC) in the Slocan Valley, British Columbia. Serving as the prime contractor and regulatory agent, AxisTech played a pivotal role in connecting rural communities across challenging terrain to reliable, high-speed internet.

As part of Columbia Basin Trust's ongoing commitment to improve broadband access across the region, the project included the installation of aerial and tower-mounted fibre, underground directional drilling, trenching, plowing, and microducts for 72-strand singlemode fibre optic cabling. The completed infrastructure allows internet service providers to access a regional backbone that offers improved connection quality and capacity for future growth.

AxisTech's experienced team led design-assist services through their in-house RCDD professionals, ensuring compliance, optimal design, and effective cable placement throughout the installation. By acting as both the regulatory agent and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), they also ensured the project met all safety and telecommunications standards.
