Pest Management Association Of Bangladesh Established

DHAKA, Bangladesh - Dec. 24, 2024 - PRLog -- The Pest Management Association of Bangladesh, a trade organization dedicated to advancing the pest control industry and enhancing public health infrastructure in the battle against dengue and other viral diseases, was officially established in Dhaka today. During a meeting convened in Baridhara on Monday, December 23, 2024, the founding members of the association elected a seven-member ad hoc executive committee, with Arafat Ashwad Islam elected President.

Atef Chowdhury and Agriculturist Md. Emdad Hossain have been elected Vice President and Treasurer of the Pest Management Association of Bangladesh, respectively. Adil Hossain Chowdhury, Muhammad Aminul Islam, Imdadul Haque Rakib, and Md. Shohag Hossen have also been elected to the executive committee. The full executive committee and additional members will be elected during the organization's Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled to occur following the acquisition of the requisite permission from the appropriate authority within the Ministry of Commerce.

Arafat Ashwad Islam is the Country Managing Director at Orkin Bangladesh, a franchise of the American pest control brand Orkin Systems, LLC. He also concurrently serves as the Managing Director at Acorp Limited, a private holding company in Bangladesh specializing in commercial and consultancy services and commodity trading. He is actively engaged in various nonprofit organizations, serving as the Board Secretary for the Anu Memorial Foundation and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Gulshan Society.
